Dear Valued Customer,
The current Covid period has brought us many challenges. Fortunately, we have all stayed safe and healthy here at CakeSupplies, but from an operational point of view we have had to deal with many situations to keep supply and delivery going. The lockdowns in various countries have caused for great growth and interest in baking and decorating, whilst at the same time our vendors have been challenged to deal with the peaks in supply chain. Since last year, we have been experiencing heavy growth, causing even more pressure on our supply chain. On top, we have been dealing with the Brexit situation. Since many British vendors were not ready for all the paperwork, the supply from the UK suddenly got disrupted. Also, we faced a shortage in trucking capacity as many trucking companies lost capacity due to waiting lines at customs to get loads cleared. Our planning department and warehouse operation have been working hard to overcome these issues and we see progress, although still limited and slow.
In the meantime, we have been preparing to move to new facilities in July as our growth in volumes has caused our warehouse to be getting closer to full capacity and our organization is growing consequently. Our new warehouse will give us not only more space, but also a more efficient operation and should support our plans for growth in the next years to come.
Despite the current challenges, we feel that the market within specialty retail is exciting, growing and getting more professional. We at CakeSupplies are committed to continue to be your preferred partner either be it via our online platform, our dedicated commercial team or our operational team.
Thank You,
